How it works

  1. Forward your produce and dry-goods invoices from the last 90 days to invoices@audit.velkancorp.com. PDFs, photos and your distributor's emails all work.
  2. Pay $299. We start once both have arrived, and reply within two business days if anything is missing.
  3. Receive the report within five business days: a one-page summary, a line-by-line sheet and a script for your next conversation with your rep.

What the report looks like

Sample

A sample built from a synthetic invoice. The restaurant, the prices paid and the reference prices are invented to show the format; they are not a real customer or a real market quote.

Reference for each line

USDA Agricultural Marketing Service, Miami terminal market report for the week of the invoice, same item, grade and pack where reported, plus the delivery allowance stated on the report. Source and date sit on every line of the full sheet.

Script excerpt

“Our Roma tomatoes averaged $1.54 a pound this quarter. The public terminal price for the same pack averaged $1.12 including delivery. Can we get closer to that, or move this item to market pricing?”

Method

  1. We read each invoice line: item, pack, quantity and price paid.
  2. We convert every price to one unit (per pound, per each, per bunch) so packs compare fairly.
  3. We set each line against a public reference price for the same week: USDA market reports, and public shelf prices only where the publisher's terms allow it. Each reference carries its source and date.
  4. We flag a line when you pay more than 3% above the reference, and multiply the gap by your weekly volume to get annual dollars.

What the report never contains

  • No other restaurant's prices. No peer averages, no rankings, no “restaurants near you pay”. Your report uses your invoices and public prices only, and your invoices are never used in anyone else's report.
  • No claim that a supplier overcharged you or broke a contract. We say “above the public reference by X%”; we have not seen your contract.
  • No advice to coordinate with other buyers, and no forecast of future prices.
  • No legal, accounting or tax advice.

The guarantee

If the audit finds less than $299 a year in estimated overpayment, we refund the full $299. You keep the report. You do not need to ask; we refund when we deliver it. Refund terms.

Your data

Where do my invoices go?

Email to invoices@audit.velkancorp.com is received by Cloudflare and stored in a private storage bucket that only we can read. Nothing is published, and nothing goes to a distributor or its reps.

Who sees them?

Only the people preparing your audit. Your invoices and your report are never shown to another customer and never used in another customer's report.

How long do you keep them?

We delete your invoices and working files 90 days after we deliver the report. If you do not buy an audit, we delete what you sent within 30 days of receiving it. You can ask us to delete anything sooner.

Do you use my prices for anything else?

No. Any future use, such as an anonymised benchmark, would need your separate, written opt-in, and you can say no without affecting your audit.

Am I allowed to share my invoices?

Usually yes, but check: some supply agreements limit sharing their prices. If you have a negotiated or cost-plus agreement, tell us. We will still audit your invoices for you alone, and they stay out of any future pool.

Who handles payment?

Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
